Time: 6:50 to 8:00 PM

Classes Previously Offered

Fall 2018
Subject: The Revelation of Jesus Christ, a study
through the last book of the Bible
Spring 2016
Things to Come: A Study of Dispensational Eschatology

Imagine this hypothetical dialogue about the millennium between two well-meaning Christians. One proudly announces, “I am ‘Promillennial’—whatever it involves, although we cannot know for certain, I am for it!” The other responds, “Well, I am ‘Panmillennial’—while prophecy is not that important for Christians to know, I am sure it will all ‘pan out’ in the end.” The first Christian concludes that one cannot know for sure what Scripture says about prophetic issues and the second declares that it is not important to know. Though maybe sincere, but woefully ignorant that Scripture abounds with information on future things. Biblically minded Christians do not have to settle for such a muddled approach to eschatology (the doctrine of last things, or end times).

Fall 2015
Subject: “The Person and Work of Christ”
Spring 2015
Holy Spirit A sample of subjects to be covered . . .
* The personality and deity of the Holy Spirit * The unpardonable sin, or sin against the Holy Spirit * The indwelling of the Holy Spirit * The baptizing work of the Holy Spirit * The sealing of the Spirit * Spiritual gifts * The filling of the Holy Spirit * The history of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit
This church age since Pentecost is truly the age of the Spirit, and none of the people of God have been as greatly privileged as are Christians in this age.

Balancing Lifes Demands

From Jerusalem to Rome
A Survey and Analysis of the Book of Acts

The book of Acts is one of the most exciting books of the Bible! It’s filled with adventure — it tells of thrilling escapes, people in peril, conflict and intrigue, travel through the ancient world, storms and shipwrecks.

The book of Acts bridges the gap between the Gospels and Paul’s letter to the Romans, showing how a small band of Jewish believers in Jerusalem became a multi-ethnic force for global evangelization. This is the secret strategy by which God changes the world: Men and women, possessed by Jesus Christ, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, manifesting the life & power of God the Father. That’s the secret of authentic Christianity. The Spirit moves the church into the world. That is how it has always been since the day of Pentecost when the Spirit brought thousands from many countries into the body of Christ. The historical importance of the Book of Acts is unquestioned. It is the chief source book for the facts concerning Christianity in the first century after Christ. It’s the record of the continuation of those things which Jesus began to do while on earth and which He carries on as risen Head of the church (1:1). The book of Acts is ‘unfinished’ in the sense that the church today continues to write new chapters in this twenty-first century. “The Acts of the Apostles have long ago finished; the acts of the followers of Jesus will continue until the end of the world” (John Stott).

Effective Parenting in a Defective World

“Raising children is a challenge in today’s world. Peers and pop culture exert a never-ending pressure on kids. Every day they are bombarded with the pressures and influences of drugs, sex, and violence. Often, parents feel helpless when the corrupt principles of this defective world seem to contradict every godly principle they try to instill in their children. But the good news is that God has a plan for effectively raising your children and you can learn it!”

In this series, you will:

• Learn universally applicable principles that will change your understanding of your role as a parent and how to apply God’s process for teaching and nurturing your children.

• Apply practical lessons about discipline, including a biblical understanding of punishment versus discipline, and the importance of maintaining the right attitude.
• Understand and implement simple biblical truths that you and your children can hold on to when all else fails.

http://paultripp.com/products/parenting-dvd Parenting is more than using your power to get children to behave in certain ways. Parenting is all about the exposure and change of the child’s heart. When the heart of a child changes the behavioral change that is needed will last. This is a great class for parents raising children from age toddler through teen.   536684-l

Ten Great Doctrines of the Bible (Session 8-13)

The book 30 Days to Understanding the Bible is an excellent tool for people who want to learn more about the Bible and its life-transforming message. Our group study on Wednesday nights adds another dimension to the learning process. In a group, students can interact with the teacher as well as one another to deepen their insights into the nature and purpose of the Bible.
Participants will be expected to read the book on their own.   40-1-381The Foundations This 12 part series will help inform Christians of the foundational nature of today’s attacks on the Word of God, beginning in Genesis. You will be alerted to the true cause of the crumbling of our culture’s moral foundations, as well as the compromise in the church today. You will be equipped with answers to questions such as: Why should we trust the Bible? Are the creation days in Genesis literal days? Where did the “races” come from? Can we add millions of years to the Bible? Does science confirm the Bible’s history? How can we evangelize effectively in today’s culture? This is a this powerfully practical 12-week DVD series that is based on Ken Ham’s 30-year ministry.   0972304681Lost in the Middle: Midlife and the Grace of God This DVD conference series is based on Paul Tripp’s book by the same title. “You do not have to be paralyzed by regret, defeated by aging, and discouraged by the passing of your dreams. This middle period of life, which can seem like the end of many things, can actually welcome you to a brand new way of living. As is so often the case in your walk with the Lord, this moment of pain is also a moment of grace.”

NOTE: Although the class appears to be targeted at midlife, it addresses the universal struggles of every human being and that makes this a wonderful class for young people and young couples as well, who will unavoidably face these things. It’s an excellent way to prepare for the road ahead. You can go to:

9730_largeLove & Respect What is Love and Respect? We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts when feeling disrespected and a wife reacts when feeling unloved. We asked 7,000 people this question: when you are in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved or disrespected? 83% of the men said “disrespected.” 72% of the women said, ˜unloved.” Though we all need love & respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue! Please sign up in the foyer. This is a powerful and practical 5-week DVD conference series that is based on Dr. Eggerich’s book “Love & Respect”.
