Resources for Kids and Their Families

The following list of items has been compiled by our MMBC Sunday School Superintendent, Mark Anderson.  Over time more items may be added as we come across them.
These were put together in light of the COVID-19 situation, but these are excellent resources to use with your family at all times.

Below you will find several helpful resources for spiritual growth and encouragement. Im sure you can go online and find others that are just right for your family. Lets make this extra time at home with our families a time of growing closer together and growing closer to God.

ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY (Focus on the Family)

I can’t tell you how many hours our family has spent listening to Adventures in Odyssey. Adventures in Odyssey is an award-winning audio drama series created for kids ages 8-12 and enjoyed by the whole family.  Episodes last an average of twenty-five minutes and are perfect for car rides. The episodes teach lasting truths and bring biblical principles to life, with just the right balance of fun, faith and imagination.

OTTO KONING

Over the years our family has loved listening to Otto Koning. Best known for his Pineapple Story, Otto Koning was a missionary to the cannibals and has many more than the two mentioned below. One of my favorites is the hitchhiking story.

Otto Koning Overview: “Whenever the name of Otto is mentioned, those who have heard him speak break out with laughter. They are not laughing at Otto; they are laughing at their own human nature which he has an amazing gift to reveal. Otto and his wife, Carol, went to Irian Jaya to be missionaries.”

“The Pineapple Story is a best-loved classic. How was it possible that a pineapple garden and a village full of thieves were used of God to instruct a missionary in Biblical principles? Join Otto Koning as he unfolds the hard-earned lessons he learned in Papua New Guinea about surrendering rights and conquering anger. His humorous yet profound message bears witness to the power of lordship and explains how each area of life and everything we own must be wholly yielded to Christ before we can effectively make disciples for the kingdom of God.”
